Make paying the ECPL simpler

Do you travel regularly on the ECPL network? With a subscription to an accredited P-SET, an on-board unit (OBU) automatically records your journeys and calculates the amount of the Eco-contribution.

Subscribing to a P-SET: is it the right solution for me?

A P-SET automates the recording of your journeys and the calculation of the Eco-contribution by means of an on-board unit (OBU).

Why subscribe to an accredited P-SET?

  • Automated payment: you do not need to buy a ticket before each journey.
  • One device: depending on the provider's offer, the same unit (OBU) can be used in several toll domains.
  • Simplified management: transactions and invoicing are handled under your contract with the P-SET.
  • Suited to fleets: with a unit (OBU) in each vehicle, you no longer need to buy a ticket for every journey made by your fleet.

How does it work?

  1. Choose a P-SET accredited for the ECPL.
  2. Sign up with the provider and equip your vehicle.
  3. Check that the ECPL service is activated, then drive on the ECPL network.

Already have an OBU?

You do not necessarily need new equipment. Check with your P-SET whether it is accredited for the ECPL and whether the ECPL service is activated for your vehicle.

How does it work?

  1. Choose a P-SET

Compare the accredited providers and sign a contract with the one that suits you.

  2. Sign up and equip your vehicle

The provider supplies and registers the on-board equipment for your vehicle.

  3. Drive — the tax is handled automatically

Your journeys are recorded and invoiced by your provider.

Fleet management

Centralised management
All your vehicles under a single contract, with tracking per vehicle.
Automated payment
No action required for each journey: recording and payment are handled by the provider.
Invoicing via the provider
One invoice per your contractual billing cycle, ready for direct use in your accounts.
Interoperability
Most accredited providers cover several European schemes with the same unit.

How do I get equipped?

You subscribe to a P-SET directly with the provider. Be ready to provide:

  • the vehicle registration certificate
  • the registration number of each vehicle to be equipped
  • your company's identification details
  • a means of payment for the provider's invoicing

The provider then supplies the on-board equipment and registers it for the ECPL. Allow for delivery and installation times before the date on which you need to travel.

P-SET FAQ

Can my OBU pay the Eco-contribution automatically?

Yes, if your unit is supplied by a European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) provider accredited for the ECPL and if the ECPL service is activated in your contract. In that case, the tax is calculated and invoiced automatically by your EETS provider. For more information, please contact them directly.

Is my EETS provider accredited?

The list of accredited EETS providers will be published on the ECPL.fr website before launch. If your provider is on this list, you will be able to use your unit to drive on the taxed network. For more information, you can also contact your provider directly.

Do I need to take any further steps?

It depends on your contract. Your provider may ask you to activate the ECPL service or to update your vehicle information. Your provider will tell you whether any action is needed. Do not hesitate to get in touch with them.

What if my EETS provider is not accredited?

You can take out a subscription with another accredited EETS provider or, if you only use the network occasionally, buy a ticket before your journey on the ECPL.fr website or on the mobile app.

What are the advantages of an OBU?

With an on-board unit, you do not have to buy a ticket before each journey, the amount of the tax is calculated automatically, and managing your journeys and invoicing is simpler. Subscribers may also benefit from a reduction in the amount of the ECPL when the specified conditions are met. The percentage will be announced before launch.
